CQ WPX CW Contest, 28-29 May 2005

The big surprise were the excellent conds when you think at the
current state of the solar cycle. Even 15m opened towards W which was impossible just one
month ago during Helvetia contest. 10m produced some DX as well and not to forget the
Sporadic-E QSO withing Europe. The night shift was done in the sleeping bag and mid Sunday
moring I set my goal to 1000 QSO, 500 Multis and 1 Mio points. After that I called it a
contest (day). WX wise was overachieved as well: 30+ C outside and after I opened every
possible door and window the inside temperature climbed up to 24C.
WPX with only 1 TRX (left SO2R stuff at home) is getting boring.
Multis count only once and every second QSO is a new mult. Therefore I S&P 10m and dug
out some weak signals.
New ones for me were 7Q7WW, 9G5FD, after a long time again PZ5XX
and TU2CI. KL7IKF produced a nice signal as well.
