ARRL International DX Contest, 17-18 February 2007

HB9CZF - SO 20m HP unassisted

Due to family commitments I focused on 20m only. Conds were not the best but all Northamerica was workable. After this contest I know why W0/VE4 is called "Black Hole". E.g. into VE4 there is roughly one hour opening and many others struggled with this province as well.

On Saturday I was QRV for about 6 hours and on Sunday a bit more then 2.5h during prime time; in total 8h39' and mostly CQ high in the band.

Although I use no Packet Radio in my shack I could clearly tell when I was spotted. It seems the longer the more people are watching the DXCluster and don't search the bands anymore.

I was rather surprised about the number WA worked. For details see the list at the end of this page.
