| After the incident involving a sheep and my pole I had second thoughts about not activating the second hill on the same day, however, the weather was so beautiful, I couldn't resist. With the 5 lower sections of the pole remaining I aired this two pointer as well. In order to get a decent signal into Central Europe I placed my antenna right at the ridge which adds additional gain with the sloping terrain. | If you look carefully at my antenna wire you can see the strong wind coming up the hill. |

| With a shorter pole the ladder line was obviously too long. I simply laid it on the ground and let the built in antenna tuner master the task. On 40m an SWR of 1.1:1 with L = 5uH and C = 60pF and on 30m an SWR of 1.1:1 with L = 2.1uH and C = 0pF. The usual tuner readings can be seen on my SOTA pages of GW/SW-016, -020, -026 and -033. | View towards West ... |
