GW/SW-033 - Wentwood - 309m - 1 Point

11 April 2009: 09:22 - 10:18 UTC

35 CW QSO on 7031 kHz
14 CW QSO on 10118 kHz

Temperature: 15C

I had a real struggle to get this activation going. I CQ-ed for a long time on 40m, then on 30m until SP9DLY called with a nice 599 signal. Back on 40m the same with DL7VKD and again a nice signal. Fortunately there was nothing wrong with my setup :-) and in the end I logged 49 QSO in roughly 1 hour on the air.

KAT2 readings:
7032 kHz: L = 6.8 uH / C = 50 pF / SWR = 1.0 : 1
10118 kHz: L = 2.6 uH / C = 200 pF / SWR = 1.2 : 1

The track was recorded with i-gotU GT-120 datalogger offered by Mobile Action. The data was processed by @trip PC software that comes with it, exported as gw_sw033.gpx and finally imported to Google Earth.

Wentwood car park ... ... and there are trees all around.

I saved this SOTA for a rainy day but there was none left :-) The biggest challenge was to errect the 10m pole between all these branches. A few 100m further up the road towards the summit this microwave station can be found.

...more trees ... A whole area direction Bristol Channel was freed up; at least little view from GW/SW-033 Wentwood.
